Piezoelectric yarns for sensory materials (PieMat)
Description
The aim of the research project is the development of innovative piezo-electric multi-component yarns with a flexible core-sheath structure and thus increased flexibility, resistance and reliability for sensory textile materials. In contrast to previous research efforts for the production of piezo yarns with a concentric structure, these should have a particularly high textile (flexible and pliable) character and can be further processed into textile surfaces. For this purpose, the yarns based on the piezoelectric polymer polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) are to be used for the first time using a combination of different braiding processes instead of
Bicomponent melt spinning process are produced. The pie yarns are said to be in functional pattern.
